On February 1, 2017, Respected Finance Minister, Shri Arun Jaitley announced the Union Budget for the year 2017-18. He declared that the ratio of fiscal deficit to GDP is currently 3.50%. He also declared that he would bring it down to 3.20% by March 2018.
