The Operational Research Society of India (ORSI) was founded in 1957 to provide a forum for the Operational Research Scientists to widen their horizon by exchange of knowledge and application of techniques from all over the world. The society is affiliated to International Federation of Operational Research Societies (IFORS, website www.ifors.org) and the only society representing India in INFORMS. The society is devoted to promotion and dissemination of knowledge in Operational Research. ORSI has sixteen chapters located in various cities in India.
