The minimum eligibility requirement for getting admission to this program is a graduation in any discipline from a UGC/AICTE recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks.
Candidates appearing for their final-year Bachelor’s Degree examinations in 2019 can also apply provided they complete all of their graduation requirements by June 2019 and submit their graduation results by September 30, 2019.

Candidates will be shortlisted for Group Discussions and Personal Interviews based upon their past academic records and performance in CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT or WB-JEMAT. Shortlisted candidates will be called for their final Group Discussions and Personal Interviews. The final selection of a candidate will be based upon their past academic record as well as their overall performance in the Group Discussion and Personal Interview stages. Along with above, their work experience and other academic / extra-curricular achievements will also be taken into account while offering them an admission to this course.
The objective of this 2-year full-time PGDM program is to train students into becoming capable managers and leaders of organizations in the 21st century.
The program considers management as an integrated process and helps students in developing a global perspective towards advanced management principles and their applications. The program also trains students in effectively responding to the multitude of changes occurring across one’s nation’s social, economic, technological, cultural and political spectrums.
Areas of Specialisation
This program follows a 2-tier structure. The first-year is dedicated towards understanding business fundamentals through compulsory courses spanning different areas of management studies. The second-year of studies allows students to choose from the following course clusters:
- Economics, Banking and Advanced Financial Management
- Marketing Management
- Operations and Supply Chain Management
- Human Resource Management and Leadership
Students are required to specialise in at least two of these aforementioned clusters by selecting courses equivalent to 18 credits across each of these chosen clusters.

This program comprises of a total of six terms. Each term is approximately of three months in duration. Each course is of 3 credits unless stated otherwise. Many courses herein require students to do project work, give presentations and submit term papers. Upon completion of their third term, students are required to undergo a ‘Summer Internship’ for about eight to ten weeks. This internship is equivalent to 6 credits in all.
Students at the Calcutta Business School have been conventionally placed in Senior Executive or Management roles across Core Sector Companies and Traditional Businesses offering stable career progress. The average package offered at CBS was 5.03 Lakhs/Annum.
