World Water Day is about tackling the water crisis by addressing the reasons why so many people are left behind. United Nation’s sustainable goal is : water for all by 2030.
Water crisis and its challenges is a global phenomenon and Indian Government is trying its best to make people aware of it by various means, more so because of the recent water crisis in Chennai. Ground water level everywhere is depleting fast and India is looking at severe water crisis by 2025 according to UN reports.
AICTE has taken it up as a mission to sensitize educational institutes by celebrating 22nd July’19 as Jal Diwas, where the motto is ‘Every drop of water has to be saved.’
Following the directive, Calcutta Business School also celebrated Jal Diwas on 22nd July’19 by having several activities by students. There were skits and role plays, poster making, presentations,article and creative writings. Lot of creative ideas came from students who were motivated to take this cause forward by agreeing to form a club to save water and implement it with in the college campus . Winners were judged by a panel of faculty members and were suitably rewarded. The banner uploaded is taken from the presentations made by students.
