Outbound Leadership Practicum at Chibo, Kalimpong, West Bengal 2018

Students of Batch 2017-19 have recently returned from a Leadership Practicum Programme conducted at Chibbo, Kalimpong, West Bengal which is a part of their 2 year full time AICTE approved PGDM Programme.

In this four days Programme, students were made to carry out several field activities in order to overcome their fear for unknown and build self confidence level. They were made to stay at a camp site and undergo different tasks like rock climbing, shelter making, self-cooking, preparing food with the help of natural resources, crossing a stream with the help of a rope, zip lining and trekking to lower Himalayas. They were trained through Micro World Simulation. Through these various tasks they were made to understand the following objectives of Leadership -

  • Build trust factor. To Keep calm in face of adversity , to build confidence and lead from the front and maintain a high morale.
  • Improve self understanding, eradicate selective listening, conflict resolution.
  • Importance of thinking outside the box.
  • Maintaining a Positive Attitude.
  • Importance of being honest, ethical and agile.
  • Importance of effective communication.
  • Inspire the team to see the vision of success.
  • Negotiating with uncertainty.
  • Team Bonding - comradeship & fellow feeling.
