Preparatory Classes for the Incoming
(Batch 2019-21)

Since 2018, Calcutta Business School has launched a concept called Preparatory Classes before formal Orientation in July for about two weeks in June, to give its PGDM Program students a heads up on the main program. These classes were started with the objective of acclimatizing students with basics of logical sense, mathematical abilities, various facets of management education and communication skills. ‘Preparatory Program’ would help students in getting a preview of the pedagogy at CBS which emphasizes on case study method, group work, project activity and experiential learning. The topics covered in these classes include mathematics, statistics, soft skills, English Communication for Managers, etc., so that they are able to understand the essence of the courses to be covered in the PGDM Programme.

With the above objective in mind on 17th June’2019 Preparatory Classes were started with a warm welcome message by the Director, Dean, Principal, Associate Dean . The first session was of soft skills taken by Prof. Shiladitya Bhattacharya, followed by Communicative English by Prof. Srimati Chatterjee. Swami Suparnananda Maharaj, Hony. Secretary, RKM Golpark was there to give a discourse on personality development and character building based on the life and works of Swami Vivekananda .The day ended with the screening of a movie. Preparatory classes will continue till the end of June’2019.
